Get to know the performer and Educator

Michael Dashefsky is an actor, pianist, and instructor dedicated to the musical arts.

Born in Miami, Florida, Michael Dashefsky began playing piano and competing at the age of 5. Inspired by his dads love of eclectic music, particularly jazz and funk genres, he pursued piano as he relocated with his family from Miami to, San Diego, California. Honing his craft in acting, voice and dance, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre at California State University Fullerton. At University, Michael also scored original music for several dance concert collaborations. Upon completion of his degree and graduating Magna Cum Laude, he combines his passion for performing and traveling abroad. He has worked extensively in Asia at both Tokyo Disney Resort and Universal Studios Singapore. He has also worked as a vocalist for Princess Cruises and fills in as a dueling piano player for Holland America Lines branded music venue, Billboard Onboard. His theatrical credits include performing with East West Players, The Chance Theatre, Transcendence Theatre Company, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Milwaukee Rep and touring nationally with Christmas Wonderland.

He has also appeared as a recurring character in a mini web-series for the Lifetime Networks digital content platform “Fall Into Me: Delicious” and a presenter for healthcare training modules HealthStream. During the immeasurable pause of live entertainment due to Covid-19, Michael founded a virtual studio teaching vocal and piano lessons over Zoom. He also collaborates as a vocal coach and music director for Solana Beach Community Theater in San Diego. As live theatre has returned post pandemic, Michael was part of the reopening of Tony Award Winning Chicago Shakespeare Theatre’s Beatles infused production of As You Like It. In this unique production he played piano in the band, served as associate music director and played Silvius. He reprised his role in this production at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre. He is currently represented by FSE Talent and a proud member of Actors Equity Association. He spends his time both in Brooklyn and in San Diego teaching, music directing and auditioning.
